I’ve been flying Delta for several years now and I loved every single flight, regardless of my class of service. I already liked the “old” Delta One cabin and this time I got to fly in the brand new Delta One Suites on Delta’s new Airbus A350 from Amsterdam (AMS) to Detroit, MI (DTW). Enjoy!
It was finally time for boarding and being Sky Priority comes in very handy in the morning hours at Amsterdam’s busy airport.
The suite was very spacious and the seat is significantly more comfortable than the “old” Delta One seats. Delta One always comes with Westin Heavenly In-Flight bedding. The blanket is very cozy and not too thick.
The food served in Delta’s business class is always a highlight. The parsnip purée was very delicious and so was the salmon tataki. I then chose the beef tenderloin as my main course. For dessert, I had the ice cream sundae. On a scale from 1 to 10 I’d give Delta a solid 10 on this incredible meal.
BTW, did you notice the spoon? ❤️
After the meal service I slept for a couple of hours. Transforming the Delta One seat into a bed is easily and quickly done. Due to the missing overhead bins in the middle row of Delta One, the cabin of Delta’s new Airbus A350 seems bigger and way more spacious. Nicely done, Delta!
Right after I woke up the flight attendant brought me warm chocolate cookies and a coffee. If you ask me waking up doesn’t get any better than this.
About 2 hours before my arrival in Detroit Delta served another meal. I chose the Cuban pork sandwich and although it was a total mess to eat, it was absolutely delicious. Another 10 out of 10!
I’ve never felt so good after an 8 1/2 hour trans-Atlantic flight. The food was exceptional, the crew treated me better than some of my relatives and the landing was probably the smoothest I’ve ever witnessed. Also, I’d like to add that the new A350 is insanely quiet. I normally wear noise-canceling headphones when I sleep on a plane (which is normally a bit uncomfortable) but this time I was able to sleep without headphones. In fact, the noise from the kitchen during meal service was louder than the plane… and the crew was already really quiet while preparing the meals.
So, here comes my overall rating of Delta’s new Business Class Suites:
